Creative friends, this year University of Teuku Umar (UTU) is holding another prestigious event known as the UTU Awards. UTU Awards is an inter-collegiate competition which was held for the first time in 2015. The main objective of this competition is to foster students' motivation for entrepreneurship, as well as to hone creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. With technological advances and rapid changes of times, it is expected that students will have sufficient expertise and experience in facing future life's challenges after graduating from college.
 
In addition, it should be noted that UTU has a vision "To be the source of inspiration and reference in the development of science, technology and business in the agro-and marine industry at the regional (2025), national (2040), and international (2060) levels through innovative, creative and highly competitive research. " Therefore, UTU Awards is also our efforts to realize this vision, especially in the field of student affairs. UTU is committed to encouraging the advancement of science and civilization through the implementation of quality and competitive higher education.
 
The 7th UTU Awards 2021 is open to undergraduate (S1) and diploma IV (D4) students who come from universities both in Indonesia and abroad. The categories competition include: (1) Entrepreneurial Research, (2) Business Plan, (3) Innovative Products on Agro-and Marine Industry, and (4) Online Shop Design. The work submitted to each category is expected to be relevant to UTU's core product, namely agriculture and marine-based industries. The number of applicants for the UTU Awards continues to increase every year with diverse creative ideas and quality proposals. Therefore, to uphold sportsmanship and fairness, each submitted proposal is assessed by a panel of judges who are selected for their expertise, reputation, and experience in the competition category, as well as from various respective universities.
 
In conclusion, thank you to the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Culture who continues to support the UTU Awards competition in many ways. We also express our gratitude to all advisors at various universities who have contributed to the success of their students in this prestigious event. Finally, thanks to all committees involved in organizing The 7th UTU Awards 2021.
